Our guides are dedicated to, and passionate about the bush and all it has to offer, from the over 500 bird species, 147 mammal species, 110 reptile species as well as the numerous bugs and insects. They also have vast knowledge of the trees, grasses and plants and their various medicinal uses.
During the course of the day our guides will visit a scenic picnic spot or one of the Rest Camps for a breakfast stop and/or lunch stop, allowing time for a meal and to stretch the legs before setting off to explore more of the African bush.

Experience the Extraordinary:
Embark on a journey like no other, starting your adventure in Hazyview. Enjoy a comfortable ride in our air-conditioned vehicle, departing 14:30 during the summer months (October to March).
The Journey Begins:
Your transfer to the renowned Sabi Private Game Reserve’s Shaws Gate takes approximately 50 minutes. Enjoy around 30 minutes of game viewing en route to the stunning Umkumbe Bush Lodge at our family owned property, with opportunities to see all sorts of wildlife along the way.
Welcome to Umkumbe Bush Lodge:
Upon arrival, unwind with a complimentary tea/coffee or cash bar as you prepare for an unforgettable evening.

Sunset Safari Adventure:
16:30: Join lodge guests for a 3-hour sunset safari on a roofless safari vehicle. Please note, the vehicles are generally full and there are no guarantees of private use.
17:30: Stop briefly in the bush to enjoy sundowner drinks and snacks, then continue your safari by torchlight, capturing the enchanting transition from day to night.
19:30: Return to the lodge for a comfort break.
19:45: Enjoy a relaxing transfer back to Hazyview, arriving at your lodging with memories to last a lifetime.
